Capturing Confident Senior Portraits

You may think that Spring is a strange time of year to get your senior portrait taken but I think it is one of the best times. Traditionally, a senior will have their portrait taken at the beginning of their senior year or before it even begins. At that time, they are aware of the big transition that is upon them and may have an “idea” of where they will be in a year but they probably are not certain of their future after high school. Take this portrait at the beginning of their senior year and you may get a portrait of a lost soul with a fake smile and uncertainty in their eyes. Don’t get me wrong, a great photographer should be personable enough to make the student comfortable and bring out their dynamic personalities. On the other hand, when spring arrives chances are good that the uncertainty is all but vanished. Look at Jenna in these images and you can see passion, a spark of energy, her acceptance to move on to the next big adventure and an eagerness to embrace and tackle the world. My session fee is $135.00 and typically last an hour with unlimited change of clothes. With this fee, you get secured, online proofing, two mini albums to commemorate the occasion and an 8×10 enlargement. Please ask me about burning a DVD with print release and social media friendly files. If you are looking for more, please contact me because I am confident that I can deliver it! Best of luck to Jenna! Check out more portraits at my website!

Referrals are the Best

I love hearing that someone knows about my photo business because they were referred by a formal client or they hired me because they were in a bridal party. This was the case with Amanda and Matt who planned their wedding from Virginia and were big time Steelers fans to boot! Amanda was a bridesmaid in her cousin’s wedding I captured eight years ago in Harrison City. I dropped off my talented partner, Chris Lane at the Marriott in Greensburg so he could capture the guys as I continued onto Export to get photos of the girls. The wedding took place in Murrysville and we got in a few formals at the Greensburg Country Club before a storm hit. It was great seeing the family again and catching up with Amanda’s cousin, Samantha. In closing, I just want to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU and THANK YOU for your referrals! You are the best! Go Stillers! Aaron McGregor Photography

The Atrium Wedding

Azure skies and sun kissed bouquets embraced Christina and Mike on their wedding day. Christina and her girls got ready at the church while the guys showed up all decked out in their tuxes. I was told a few years ago that Pittsburgh based transportation company, Molly’s Trolleys was out of business. So I was thrilled to see their trolley pull into the church parking lot. After the ceremony, we were able to grab some formal portraits in the gardens of The Atrium in Prospect, PA. After the formals, we were all treated to a wonderful and romantic evening. I typically don’t post this many images to this blog but hope you enjoy these images that Melissa and I captured regardless of quantity. Cheers! Aaron McGregor Photography

Need Adored? Rescue a Puppy!

In an effort to give back to my community of Norwin, I volunteer my photo services to Pet Friends of Irwin. They are a no kill shelter managed by an exceptional team of volunteers. This efficient group dedicates their time every day to help abandoned dogs and cats find forever homes. They called me last week when they had a “full house” of 8 dogs. By the time I was able to pay them a visit yesterday, they had picked up an additional 5 dogs! That “Full House” just doubled down into “Five of a Kind”. Check out these 13 dogs if you or someone you know is looking for a new furry companion. You will not only be helping the dogs and yourself, you will be helping our community. Photo Blog Kickoff: Getting Pretty!

Getting pretty (or should I say prettier) is my first blog to kick off the 2015 season. I chose Erin and Matt’s wedding held in May of 2014 because they look fantastic together. The reason why I decided to focus upon “getting pretty” is because I love the time before the ceremony. I have been capturing wedding memories for 19 years and still enjoy feeling the heightened levels of excitement that are present at the bride’s house or hotel room. The prepping, primping and fussing about making a beautiful girl even more beautiful blows my mind. I love capturing these moments and love getting the groom’s expression as She enters the church and walks down the nave. In addition to these moments, I have thrown in the first dance as well. Check out how the little flower girl is spinning like the bride. You gotta love those moments as well. Until next time, follow me here! www.amcgregorphotography.com
