Senior Portrait Listening Lessons

I am honored to capture any kind of milestone but capturing a senior portrait ranks among the most memorable. The student is in the midst of being confronted with one of the biggest transitions as an emerging adult. The biggest tip that I can offer any photographer is to get to know the student. Don’t just ask questions while hiding behind your camera but talk to them and more importantly, LISTEN. This is an exciting time for them and they have a ton to say. Golden Skyline Embraces Wedding

Imagine a beautiful ceremony aboard the Gateway Clipper Fleet augmented by a string quartet playing heavenly Mozart compositions. Amy and Justin were united in front of the sparking Pittsburgh skyline. As we started capturing the formal portraits, the sky opened up in a torrential downpour. We were forced to take the remainder of the bridal party photos inside the boat. To our delight, the clouds parted right before sunset as the Clipper floated past the city as we were ecstatic to capture these images. Congratulations to Amy & Justin! Rain will not Oppress Bliss

Nicole and Mike had a wet start to their wedding day. As a photographer, I would rather have a beautiful, cloudy day filled with rain instead of a sunny day filled with scorching temperatures. A cloudbank creates a natural “soft box” effect that is comparable to working in the photo studio. The highlight to shadow exposure ratio is not as extreme as it is on a sunny day. I still pop a flash at times to brighten up those eyes. Even though it rained on their wedding day, it most definitely did not rain on their parade! Congratulations Nicole and Mike! In my efforts to support local animal shelters and non-profit groups, all photography sessions booked in August will result in you getting an original artwork AND I will donate 20% of the proceeds in your honor to your preferred non-profit. To ensure your donation, you only have to book and make a deposit in August! Imagine this scenario: you book your wedding at $1550.00. That results in a $310.00 donation to your favorite non-profit! March 1st Wedding, Marci and James

March 1^st was a nice day for a white wedding and this couple rocked it! Since wedding season is in full-swing, I wanted to introduce a little bit of snow back into your summer lovin’s. We photographed Marci and James at Round Hill Park in Elizabeth, PA, before heading over to the Sunset Room for the reception. The hall’s moniker lived up to its standard by providing a grand vista to an awesome sunset.
