Azure skies and sun kissed bouquets embraced Christina and Mike on their wedding day. Christina and her girls got ready at the church while the guys showed up all decked out in their tuxes. I was told a few years ago that Pittsburgh based transportation company, Molly’s Trolleys was out of business. So I was thrilled to see their trolley pull into the church parking lot. After the ceremony, we were able to grab some formal portraits in the gardens of The Atrium in Prospect, PA. After the formals, we were all treated to a wonderful and romantic evening. In an effort to give back to my community of Norwin, I volunteer my photo services to Pet Friends of Irwin. They are a no kill shelter managed by an exceptional team of volunteers. This efficient group dedicates their time every day to help abandoned dogs and cats find forever homes. They called me last week when they had a “full house” of 8 dogs. By the time I was able to pay them a visit yesterday, they had picked up an additional 5 dogs! That “Full House” just doubled down into “Five of a Kind”. Check out these 13 dogs if you or someone you know is looking for a new furry companion. You will not only be helping the dogs and yourself, you will be helping our community. I may be biased, but I think Pittsburgh, PA is one of the best places for a destination wedding! We have several beautiful beaches, glistening water, sunny days, grand city vistas, ample lodging, great restaurants, wonderful cultural performances, excellent museums, the best medical facilities along with a hoppin’ night scene with deep historic ties. Maria and Amin met in college here and decided that the Sheraton Station Square was going to be the place to have everything. Their guests could stay at the hotel, witness their marriage in the courtyard with city-line views, celebrate at the reception and then take the elevator up to their rooms. Everyone would have enough energy to take in the cultural experiences of this former steel town that is gracefully dancing through a renaissance. You got to admit, if your from this area you a very proud to call this place “home”. And you probably questioned the “beautiful beaches” comment! Getting pretty (or should I say prettier) is my first blog to kick off the 2015 season. I chose Erin and Matt’s wedding held in May of 2014 because they look fantastic together. The reason why I decided to focus upon “getting pretty” is because I love the time before the ceremony. I have been capturing wedding memories for 19 years and still enjoy feeling the heightened levels of excitement that are present at the bride’s house or hotel room. The prepping, primping and fussing about making a beautiful girl even more beautiful blows my mind. I love capturing these moments and love getting the groom’s expression as She enters the church and walks down the nave. In addition to these moments, I have thrown in the first dance as well.
