Romance radiated from the Laurel Highlands on the day of Stacey & Jason’s wedding. The day was filled with gorgeous people, earthy environs & luminous skies. Helen’s Restaurant at Seven Springs Ski Resort provided the perfect setting for their intimate wedding. The ceremony took place directly outside the restaurant nestled among the boulders and mountain laurel overlooking the pond. It was charming, serene, transcendental and perfect. Many of us joyfully celebrate Christmas in July! So it only seems fitting to celebrate Independence Day in December! Rustic Weddings have been trending for several years and the West Overton Museum epitomizes this movement. The birthplace of coal baron, Henry Clay Frick, it is located in Scottdale, PA. Amanda & Mike were married in the flower garden and celebrated their reception inside the Big Barn. Several outbuilding dot the property and elegance abounds at every corner. Cheers! I am honored to capture any kind of milestone but capturing a senior portrait ranks among the most memorable. The student is in the midst of being confronted with one of the biggest transitions as an emerging adult. The biggest tip that I can offer any photographer is to get to know the student. Don’t just ask questions while hiding behind your camera but talk to them and more importantly, LISTEN. This is an exciting time for them and they have a ton to say. Imagine a beautiful ceremony aboard the Gateway Clipper Fleet augmented by a string quartet playing heavenly Mozart compositions. Amy and Justin were united in front of the sparking Pittsburgh skyline. As we started capturing the formal portraits, the sky opened up in a torrential downpour. We were forced to take the remainder of the bridal party photos inside the boat. To our delight, the clouds parted right before sunset as the Clipper floated past the city as we were ecstatic to capture these images. Congratulations to Amy & Justin!
