Romance radiated from the Laurel Highlands on the day of Stacey & Jason’s wedding. The day was filled with gorgeous people, earthy environs & luminous skies. Helen’s Restaurant at Seven Springs Ski Resort provided the perfect setting for their intimate wedding. The ceremony took place directly outside the restaurant nestled among the boulders and mountain laurel overlooking the pond. It was charming, serene, transcendental and perfect. My niece, Aley, and her groom Joe embraced each other on October 31, 2022. Yes, that seems like a decade ago but they are still celebrating their honeymoon – as it should be. I haven’t been blasting everyone with promos and blog posts in a while because I didn’t know where I would be after hip surgery. Well let me tell you that modern medicine and prayers are miraculous! Sometimes you get hired to capture a small ceremony and you wish you could have spent the entire day with the couple. This was the case with Bhavya and Michael’s backyard wedding. They Zoomed it so their International guests could experience their wedding in North Huntingdon, PA. To say that 2020 was a bit compromised would be an understatement. I met Delaney when she was in high school while I was taking her dad’s portrait for the cover of Training & Conditioning magazine. She dropped in on the photo shoot and modeled for a few poses. Since that day, I probably took more photos of her than anyone else beside her two sisters, Sara & Molly. All three sisters were in each other’s wedding parties. Molly’s wedding was earlier in 2020 and Sara was married in 2016. Peyton met Delaney in college and we took their engagement session in Cook Forest (I swear I’ll blog that some day!) They had their wedding at The Barn at Ever Thine which is located an hour north of Pittsburgh. Delaney’s mom made the cake and all the cookies while her dad custom built the cookie risers. When my friend Stephen made it FB official that he got engaged to Shelley, I was so happy for them! They are so down to Earth and are a perfect match for each other. They only needed me to cover a couple hours of their intimate wedding at Greendance Winery in Mt. Pleasant. They planned everything from out of state and it all came together quite beautifully. The lovely ivory roses paired well with the blue thistle, not only in color but in texture. The soft eucalyptus and delicate flowers of her bouquet were stunning. As two families were united on their wedding day, their ceremony featured a ritual representing this unification. Even though I was only there for a couple hours, I could sense all of the support and love from their immediate family. It was truly a joy and I am honored that they hired me! Check out my new site!
