One Hour Engagement Session

What’s a 15 minute mini-session? Is it quality or quantity? Let me tell you, it is neither. As a client, it takes 15 minutes to get comfortable striking a pose, settling in and exuding confidence. Even professional models take longer that 15 minutes for a photo shoot. How is a photographer expected to connect, relate and gain trust to make their clients shine in 15 minutes? Puh-lease, just stop with the 15 minute, 50 dollar robbery to your clients. Offer them something they will cherish instead of a quick, lackluster experience. Making a connection with your people is what it’s all about. In a world filled with hectic, microwaveable processes, can we just slow the pace and take one hour to relax and enjoy life?

Ok ok, sure it only took Lauren and Jace 30 seconds to drop into fire status. However, we knew each other from Jace’s sister’s wedding in April (Melea & Jonny). They also have beautiful chemistry so capturing their engagement session was magical. Sure, it could have taken us 15 minutes, but call me selfish. I wanted to spend time with them. As a creative, I thrive off of great vibes and good mojo. I need that emotion as a vehicle to express my work. Even though there are only (!) 19 photos posted in this blog, check out the link to their ONE hour photo session. Lauren & Jace As always, thanks for your brainwaves. Location: West Overton Museum

Special Love Story Moments

Special moments can be quiet, reflective, energized or humorous. These special fleeting memories create the narrative of the day that not everyone gets to experience as they occur. Some refer to capturing images in this style as photo-journalistic. Every photographer should be able to tune in and adapt to spontaneous situations and be camera-ready at all times. In addition to these dynamic events, the light is constantly changing so understanding exposure and manual settings is of highest importance. Hope you enjoy some of these decisive wedding moments. Valentino’s Bouquets

Hey guys! Here’s your Valentine’s reminder to buy the bouquet. Unless… “if you like it, then you shoulda put a ring on it”, as the wise Beyoncé muses. Don’t be like them other jagoffs and grab one after work when you’re buying your milk and chipped ham. Go into a florist, talk to them and walk out with a stunning arrangement. This post is dedicated to all those beautiful details that make each and every wedding unique, special and personalized. As always, thank you for visiting. www.amcgregorphotography.com

Late Summer Wedding

Cheers to Erin & Colten

Excitement fills my heart when I hear of a couple’s wedding day plans. I approach every wedding to best capture their unique relationship and Big Day dreams. Erin and Colten just had a great vibe when describing their Love Story. They included everything from historic buildings and an outdoor ceremony to a scotch bar and adorable “flower grannies”. Even though I packed this blog with more photos than usual, I think the best portrait of them is the nocturne. It includes only the props of a candelabra and her bouquet against a wooden backdrop. Colten kisses Erin’s hand as she stares directly into the lens, with a bit of an attitude that declares, “He’s all mine”. Their romantic vows to each other could have been stanzas lifted from a poem by Pablo Naruda. Everything was perfect under the breezes of late summer. Referral Fact: Erin was in her brother’s wedding as a bridesmaid back in 2020. Tyler and Jessica You can view all of Erin and Colten’s wedding photos at Aaron McGregor Photography. Thanks and Cheers! Celebrate Life with Enlargements

The days are long sometimes, but the years are short. This resonates more when you have children. The years between diapers and graduation caps are fleeting. I love getting that memory on social of my kiddo when he was a wee one. What is better? The enlargements I have of him in our home. Missy hired me to capture her maternity session and continued to have me take portraits as her family grew. It must be our obligation as parents to have a tangible record of our children as our families grow. Do yourself a favor, book a portrait session. Thanks for your time! Aaron McGregor Photography
