Photo Marketing Tips

“Wowzers!” you say. “I am getting clients from all over the place!” Sure I get some local bookings from recommendations on Facebook, or from word of mouth, but most people find me on Google. Hello!?! How many of you are surprised at a good ol’ Googling? I get contacted from people living in California, Minnesota, NYC & even Europe who need a photographer in the Pittsburgh area. I ask them, “How did you hear about me?” – Are you sitting? Their response, “I searched Google!” At this I click my ruby slippers and say, “There’s no place like homepage!” I applaud Search Engine Optimizations on my webhost, PhotoShelter. I do not advertise on the web nor feel the need to do so. I enjoy the benefits of pleasing clients and having them recommend me to their friends & family. By adhering to this marketing plan, I can keep prices within your budget! Best wishes and congratulations to Caitlin & Matt on their wedding in Pittsburgh, PA. Did I mention that having a blog on WordPress has it’s benefits too! I hope you enjoy these images of this gorgeous couple. amcgregorphotography.com

Seeing the Light

Among the perils of being a professional photographer is the ability to maintain a blog, web site, marketing and business plan and accounting ledger on a daily basis. Oh wow! Did I mention collaborating with clients and capturing their dreams and editing their photos? First and foremost, congratulations to Sara & Nick on their marriage. They were married and had their reception at the Omni William Penn in Pittsburgh, PA. It was delightful to say the least. My mission this year is to teach techniques and relate my experiences so budding photographers know what they are getting into and would like some insights. Here are the first tips of 2017! #1. Become a marketing Guru #2. Understand ISO, aperture and shutter speeds #3. Embrace and capture Light in all forms #4. Expect everything to happen when you are daydreaming and #5 Live. Love. Embrace!

Epitome of Rustic Weddings

Many of us joyfully celebrate Christmas in July! So it only seems fitting to celebrate Independence Day in December! Rustic Weddings have been trending for several years and the West Overton Museum epitomizes this movement. The birthplace of coal baron, Henry Clay Frick, it is located in Scottdale, PA. Amanda & Mike were married in the flower garden and celebrated their reception inside the Big Barn. Several outbuilding dot the property and elegance abounds at every corner. Cheers! A Pittsburgh Wedding with a Wedding Contest for You!

When we arrived at the bride’s home, we were greeted by a Labrador Retriever and a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. At that point, I knew it was going to be a GREAT day! Lauren and Brandon celebrated their day and had their “first look” under electric blue skies. Among the rest of the highlights, you will discover elegant invitations, an awesome cake topper and a celebrity appearance! Since I had a wonderful time with the last contest, I decided to run another one that favors all those romantic couples among us! “Name the Make of that Convertible” to be entered into a drawing to win $150 off your wedding photography package. It is peak time for booking 2016 weddings. So if you are related to or know of anyone or if you are getting married, it would be just crazy not to take a guess. Mandi and Chris celebrate in NHT!

I find many things enjoyable about a career in photography. One of the things is making people happy – or should I “cheesily” say (while rolling my eyes), “making people smile”. I love the interaction that occurs when capturing an image that celebrates a moment in life. I was extremely excited to capture the image of the groomsman following the instructions to folding the pocket square. In additional to this smokin’ hot couple, highlighs include pre-ceremony at a swanky hotel in Monroeville, a ceremony in Irwin and a rustic-chic reception in North Huntingdon. If you can name two out of the four places we visited, you will be entered into a drawing to receive a portrait session for $65.00 ( valued at $135.00)! Just write your guesses in the commments section and I will pull a name next Monday night! Congratulation and I wish the best for Mandi and Chris!!! Aaron McGregor Photography
